Yesterday, some of you may have seen we had a fire 🔥 at our facility caused by a lithium battery🔋. Our team was absolutely amazing at recognizing, identifying and removing the burning materials from the building, and with the support of louisacountyfirerp , Kents Store Volunteer Fire Dept, @lakemonticellorescue , Fluvanna County Fire & Rescue, it resulted in zero damage. 🧯 Van der Linde Recycling & Container Rentals does not 🚫 accept lithium batteries. Please make sure to recycle your lithium batteries at the proper places. Not every facility takes them because they are an extreme fire hazard putting so much at risk. ⚠️ Lowes in Zions Crossroads works with a company called Called2Recycle.org who recycles the batteries, or you can contact your county office about Hazardous Waste Collection Days.

The Driver 🚛 - Most overloaded cans are off balance, putting the truck at risk of tipping over as the driver tries to load the container onto the truck.
