Where Does it All Go?

It’s the question that founder Peter van der Linde would ask himself about the millions of tons of construction and demolition debris produced in the Commonwealth of Virginia each year. He didn’t like the answer—most of it ended up in landfills. In 2006, he set out to change that.

Mr. van der Linde did something groundbreaking when he opened the only full-service state-of-the-art collection and recycling center in central Virginia explicitly dedicated to construction and demolition debris. Keeping C&D debris out of the landfill has remained at the forefront of our mission. Today, we recover 76% of the materials we receive — diverting them from Virginia landfills.

Recycling Is Easy for Builders and Homeowners

van der Linde Recycling makes it convenient and affordable for builders and homeowners to manage C&D debris.

1. Transport: Your Choice!

We’ll deliver our recognizable orange containers to your job site, then retrieve them when they’re full. Or, you can haul debris to our Zion Crossroads facility.

Our orange collection containers are a symbol of how much you care—about protecting Virginia for future generations. Collecting your C&D debris and transporting it to our facility is the first step. Rent one of our bright orange containers and call us when it’s full. We will transport it back to the van der Linde Recycling center and process the material for you.

Your streamlined business model, the ease of establishing an account with your company, and your pricing structure are far superior. At every opportunity, I have and will continue to recommend your company highly!

2. Recycling

Either way, we’ll salvage or recycle as much material as possible and dispose of any remaining material responsibly.

Our process adheres to the recycling and disposal regulations stipulated by the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VA DEQ).

3. Products

Buy our affordable products to complete the C&D materials lifecycle!

  • Mulch (natural or dyed)
  • Gravel
  • Fill Dirt
  • Topsoil

By purchasing from us, you are protecting the environment and contributing to our local economy.

As a homeowner, we routinely use your facility through Time Disposal and occasionally bring you construction materials. I want to tell you how impressed we were with the folks who unloaded us. After a friendly greeting, three people converged on our truck, quickly removed everything, swept the bed and were even careful to clear the tailgate of any debris before closing it. Such excellent service and work ethic are rare and are greatly appreciated.

We support EarthCraft and LEED certification.

According to the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), “Buildings have a substantial impact on the health and wellbeing of people and the planet. Green building is the practice of designing, constructing and operating buildings to maximize occupant health and productivity, use fewer resources, reduce waste and negative environmental impacts, and decrease life cycle costs.”

Your project may be eligible for a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credit in the Materials and Resources (MR) category focused on minimizing the embodied energy and other impacts associated with the extraction, processing, transport, maintenance, and disposal of building materials.
