At van der Linde Recycling we're on a mission to build a better and more sustainable future for our posterity. Everything that we do as a community today will have a direct impact on tomorrow. We hope you'll join us on this journey by learning and participating and also encouraging businesses that you hire to look for every opportunity to conserve, reduce, recycle, repurpose and care.
This blog will be our outlet where we share how our company, team, and partners are attempting to reach our goals and serve our community.
2022 was an exciting year here at
van der Linde Recycling! We invested a lot in projects designed to facilitate our growth. If you visit our facility in Troy, you'll notice; a new container and trailer yard, customer product center, and a new building in our production area where we are now receiving and recycling mattresses and carpet. And as many of you know, we now run on solar because it is important that, if we say we are a sustainable business, to be a sustainable business in every way possible.
If you have been a long-standing customer, thank you. Each and every one of you has been a part of our success and can share in the pride of what we have already accomplished. As we continue to move forward, we will focus on our mission, which is to serve and care for our people, community and environment through the recovery and recycling of discarded material. We keep working on new ways to serve our community because we are in this together. The one thing we all share is the earth and environment we live in. A little care goes a long way.
This year you will see us expand our services to include the pick-up of bulk items such as mattresses, furniture and appliances with our new affiliate Pete’s Pick-Up. We want to serve everyone in our community who wants to recycle or responsibly dispose of items and we realize that not everyone has a way to get items to us. Now, with a simple phone call, you can schedule us to come out and take care of your bulk item transportation needs.
You will also see us continue our recognition of contractors who care. Hundreds of thousands of tons of construction and demolition material are generated each year. There are contractors who consciously make the decision to recycle and those who simply throw it in a landfill. Contractors who care should be celebrated and recognized for their choice to do good rather than harm. It matters, especially for the generations who come after us. It simply needs to go to the right place. It is as easy as that.
Over the past 14 years, we have become really good at what we do. We are the 23rd construction and demolition recycling facility in the nation and only the 2nd in the Commonwealth of Virginia to receive certification with the Recycling Certification Institute. This means that we are audited and really do what we say we do. Not all
recycling facilities can say this.
However, our success does not just include recycling. We have embraced sustainability in all areas and we want to help other businesses achieve their sustainability goals as well. This is why we have launched our new consulting service. We are able to advise and help any business improve and implement sustainable practices in their operation. It is always easier to grow with the help of others who have already traveled that path. Let us help you navigate this journey, together we can make the world a little better.
